Traveling to Aruba

Aruba has made several significant updates to its travel protocols in August, including the implementation of a curfew this week. Effective August 22, 2021, Aruba has temporarily put local measures in place. Refer to the safety protocols section for additional details.  If you are coming from the United States, even if you’re fully vaccinated, you will have to complete the 72-hour PCR testing requirement before traveling to Aruba.

Travel Vaccinated to Aruba from the U.S.

In its ongoing efforts to make travel to One happy island as convenient and safe as possible, and as part of the Traveler Health Requirements, the Aruban government is happy to announce that, beginning July 14th, 2021, some U.S. residents who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be exempt from the COVID-19 testing requirement for entry to Aruba. The Aruban government will still require that the proof of vaccination meet the requirements as part of the Aruba online Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED Card) process. While the program is being introduced for eligible travelers, other travelers who may not be eligible will still need to provide a negative COVID-19 test prior to entry to Aruba.

At this time, U.S. residents are able to travel to Aruba without providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test if they meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Have been vaccinated with an FDA or EMA authorized COVID-19 vaccine in the U.S.  See the list in the FAQ.
  2. And are fully vaccinated for COVID-19: Either receiving both doses for 2-dose vaccines (a single dose for 1-dose vaccines).
  3. And 14 days must have passed since they received their last COVID-19 vaccine before traveling.
  4. And have a SMART® Health Card vaccine record.
  5. And use the CommonPass digital health app as part of Aruba’s ED Card online travel qualification process before their flight.

Travelers Returning Home From Aruba

After the announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with new protocol that requires all air passengers returning to the United States, including U.S. citizens, now be required to produce a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board a flight to the United States within 72 hours before their departure. Blue Aruba Rentals has partnered with local testing facilities to make return home testing more accessible to guests.

If your final destination is USA or Canada, Blue Aruba Rentals will now credit the amount of an Antigen test for guests who have stayed with us for 15 days or more and have booked directly with us after January 26th 2021. This offer is valid as long as it’s a requirement from the CDC.
