Explore the Caves in Aruba’s Arikok National Park

Aruba is home to many natural wonders, from pristine white-sand beaches to breathtaking caves. Plan a day trip to Arikok National Park and discover the island’s most breathtaking sights. Some of the most popular attractions in the park include Fontein and Quadirikiri Caves, offering a blend of natural and cultural history. Explore the Aruba caves on your own, or sign up for a tour and let a local guide take you through the caves. After a day of adventure, Blue Aruba Rentals offers the perfect accommodations to relax and unwind!

How to Access Aruba Caves

To enter Arikok National Park, you must purchase a conservation day pass from the Visitor Center. After purchasing your pass, you can find parking near both cave entrances and visit them between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. As you explore the park, please follow these rules and regulations.

Fontein Cave

To get into Fontein Cave, you will walk through a large metal gate. Spanning 95 meters, the cave is filled with stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites from the cave floor. The dark and humid climate makes it the perfect dwelling for bats, crabs, and insects. One of the most notable features of this cave is the ancient cave drawings left by the Arawak Indians. Be sure to stop and examine the etchings during your exploration.

Quadirikiri Cave

After exploring Fontein Cave, head to the small parking lot by Quadirikiri Cave and ascend the rocky staircase. Upon entering the cave, you can explore the large tunnels connecting three big domes. Stretching about 490 feet, the interior of the cave is filled with lava, quartz, and limestone formations. In certain areas, sunlight streams through the cave, illuminating the interior and the Amerindian petroglyphs on the walls.
